What’s the name of the app?

What does it do?

Easybib is not only an app but also a chrome extension that can be added onto the toolbar of a google chrome browser that allows you to cite a web page in any required format with the click of a button. The app is free and has features where a book or registered document can be cited by using the phone’s camera to scan the barcode and use the digital information stored to give the correct citation.

Why should a university student use it? How does it help?

This app is designed to make citation easy and allows you to have a neat and organised bibliography which is essential for students when writing essays and dissertations. The web toolbar also has a feature where it reviews the credibility of a source and can advise you to go to a more reliable one. You can cite as many sources as you need to build a fully-formatted, alphabetised, and Word-processor-ready bibliography.

Are there any disadvantages?

Some reviews mention bugs to do with web page compatibility and camera use, but the general consensus is that the app and the toolbar work well and saves a lot of time.
